Mobile simplex to Dayton

If you like mobile simplex QSO's while driving to Dayton,
don't forget to monitor 144.39 with CTCSS100.

With CTCSS-100 on 144.39, you won't hear anything
unless there is an APRS mobile in simplex range nearby
who is also listening with CTCSS-100 for a voice call.
Then you will hear his once every 2 min Ping as a free
radar alert to let you know he is nearby and listening
for a call.

Make the call on 144.39 with PL 100 and QSY to 52
for the QSO. This is called APRS VOICE ALERT.
You must mention "voice alert" in the call, otherwise
the APRS station will not realize you came in the
back door and he will think you called him on his
other usual voice radio.
