FCC Proposal

ARRL's Web site www.arrl.org and the FCC Web site just broke with a
sweeping NPRM regarding the Amateur Service. It includes a proposal to
end the Type Acceptance requirement for linear amplifiers, and a bunch
of other changes.

One of these is a proposal to permit "Auxiliary" operation in the range
145.8 to 146.0 MHz! So now FM links would be permitted in the Satellite
Service allocation.

This has just come out, so read it all carefully. But this looks
alarming from a satops standpoint.
