My FT100 acts similarly. I've noticed it will change the display frequency if
it gets left on before starting the engine, as well as creating a rushing
sound on my ssb transmit audio on vhf when the battery starts to sag a bit.
Otherwise it has been a fabulous radio since Yaesu fixed the first edition
problems on their dime.
