Re: AO-16 S band beacon?

You can use MIXW to monitor the 1200 Baud BPSK beacon on 437.051 MHz and it will
periodically tell the status - see a packet from October below...

PACSAT-1>AMSAT>UI,?,F0 (1200 baud):
October 2002
S-Band OFF, Digipeater ON
Uplinks on 145.900 .920 .940 .960
AO-16 Pacsat owned and operated by AMSAT-NA (WJ9F)

Subject: [amsat-bb] AO-16 S band beacon?

Is the AO-16 S band beacon still operating, or ever turned on? I listened
for it recently and heard nothing. (Always looking for another S band signal
besides AO-40 and UO-11 for checking out the rig.)

Tnx,
Ken, W7KKE
