Check out www.maliburesearch.com . They have a different twist that
eliminates the phasing line losses at the expense of a conventional feed.
They print passive, unterminated dipoles on a flat plate and illuminate it
with a conventional feed horn. The unterminated dipoles act as lossless
re-radiators. By arranging the dipoles in a particular pattern (patented
process), the re-radiated energy phase combines producing gain, much the
same way that a parabolic reflector produces gain. The flat plate can be
sectioned for easy transport.
