All your questions can be answered by downloading the AO40 Excel spreadsheet
from the Amsat FTP site.

I believe it is a zip file now, with a set of instructions that I wrote up
for it.

Download it, run Excel, enter the parms based on what your current setup is
and then start making the "changes" you are asking about. You will see the
effect on your ability to hear and to be heard right in front of your eyes!

Save yourself a LOT of aggravation and play with this tool ...it will tell
you without any question, where to spend your money, and where you are
wasting both time and money.

BTW Vert vs. Horiz won't matter much. I mounted my HyperLink Tech 39" BBQ
for horizontal polarization.
