[amsat-bb] VE5FP AZ-EL Controller: Help Needed

Does anyone use the VE5FP Az-El rotator controller as described in the ARRL 
Satellite Anthology?
I recently completed mine and cannot get it to work 
correctly.  Specifically, the
calibration does not "stay" in memory and the Pxx xx command does not 
function at all.
I have recompiled the SBASIC code and dowloaded it to the 
microcontroller.  Same results.
