I might suggest using an 'older' used(=cheap) machine running W95/98 for
KCT and other legacy Ham programs that need ISA slots. Networking this
with an XP machine can be done easily and inexpensively.

Once this is accomplished, find a (free) program called VNC on the 
internet. This
program allows you to accomplish full control of the remote machine over the
network. The remote desktop appears in a window with full keyboard/mouse
control.
