Re: 10ghz and a 60 cms sky dish :)



Hi Scott,
            the penny feed was designed for a prime focus dish, meaning the
focus of the energy is at a point infront of the centre of the
dish. However the normal 60cms uk sky dish has an ofset feet point , so you
have to get the penny at the same point as the lnb used
to fit, and get the angle right to illuminate the dish efficiently. you are
better off looking out for a prime focus dish it will save you a lot of
hassle. However I  do not think that FM would be very popular on an uplink
to a satelite as SSB/cw is the prefered mode.
you would need to run a lot more power for the same signal to noise of an
ssb signal, and your bandwidth on the sat would be too wide.

So unless you plan to build/buy an ssb transverter for 10GHz I would suggest
you leave it where it is.
