These are a metallic coated MYLAR plastic sheeting. 
Also remember that these blankets loose the metallic coating over time (rubbing a brace, etc...)

Would probably get better use out of a dish made in using cardstock paper then covering the paper peices with reynolds aluminum foil. could make a nice throwaway dish.

These ' blankets' are very cheap and available at walmart <$2.
i picked up a few and have yet to try them but i did measure them
>1 meg ohm, so i had doubts as to their reflective ablilty, an easy way
to tell would be to hold one in front of your dish while receiving say
the
ao40 beacon,  if the signal goes away then they should work, if not
then they dont conduct enough.
