[amsat-bb] Yaesu FT-726R Problem

I have a peculiar problem on my FT-726R
On Switch-on it takes about 5 minutes for the s meter to come up to full strength (on the local repeater with a known signal on the air), this includes the audio.
It does not matter what band or mode is being used. When switching from one band to the next the same problem occurs except the rise time of the s-meter is a little faster once the set is warmed up. All voltages check out ok.

Any clues as to what the problem may be would be greatly apreciated.
