What does flying a radio controlled model airplane have to do with amateur
radio?  What does using amateur radio to talk about the superbowl have to
do with amateur radio?  What does using amateur radio to make an autopatch
have to do with amateur radio....?  What does using APRS to track the
Olympic Torch have to do with amateur radio?

Amateur radio is a license to use and experiment with radio in the
amateur spectrum within  the rules of the regulating bodies.  Be careful
about trying to limit other people's enjoyment of the hobby according
to ones own narrow perspectiove...
