HAM Radio forever!?

Just noticed its the 100th anniversary of Marconi's invention of RADIO.
Are we doing things to promote  HAM radio on this anniversary? 

Also am hearing about the communications in India (or lack there of).  I
have heard two news reports in the media of people using the Internet and
portable satellite links to get health and welfare traffic in and out...

Do you remember when the way to communicate after a disaster used to be 
HAM radio?....
