Ahh. "Free software" refers to free as in free speech, not free as in
free beer. Often, the software is free (as in beer), but that is not
always the case.

Open source/Free software requires that anyone who can get the compiled
version of a program (for money or free or whatever) can get the source
code and modify it. It doesn't necessarily allow you to get the source 
if you don't have the compiled version.
